Disability Choice Matter prides itself on employing quality staff who fit our high standards of service. Our staff often face challenging environments working with vulnerable people. We look for a number of special qualities in a person before we consider employing them.

The duties to be carried out by our staff include:

  • Caring for people living with disabilities and a number of physical and emotional issues
  • Provide support, encouragement and companionship by engaging participants in activities, assisting them on walks, chatting with them etc
  • Carry out basic household chores such as cleaning, ironing, laundry , shopping etc
  • Assistance with personal grooming, bathing and dressing
  • Assistance with those less mobile to get in and out of bed, toileting etc
  • Arranging and undertaking transportation

Other duties may be required when necessary.

Providing care to those that need it is a very demanding job, often entailing a lot of patience, however, it can also be extremely rewarding. Care assistance is not for the faint hearted but here at Disability Choice Matter we know the type of person required for this vocation. While qualifications are important we are also looking for a number of special skills and talents which we feel are essential to be a successful care worker.
